Sunshine after the Rain

Today has been a cold dreary, rainy, raw day. We are supposed to get a heavy snow overnight and I'm looking forward to it brightening the last of these November days. In the meantime I've spent a good part of the day inside in front of the wood stove sorting through photos. I cropped the above photo out of a corner of a failed macro I took a few weeks ago. It was taken on a pleasant evening with the temperatures in the 60's. The sun had suddenly come out after a drenching rain.

  1. Quite nice and looks rather creative, even it was accidental - sometimes new ideas come this way too.

Will be interesting to see how all looks after some snow.

  2. Hi Kateri, Our weather here on the Cumberland Plateau in TN has been similar to that you are describing but I think we have had far less snow than you will get or are getting. Our snow came down and melted nearly immediately. Have a great day tomorrow and stay warm and dry!

  4. It was a cold, blustery day here yesterday too. But we had rain.

Your photo turned out quite artsy, I think!

  5. This turned out so nicely. I love the tones in the sky! Some of the best shots are by accident.

  6. I'm writing a story about a grey, rainy day, but the sun refuses to go away and stop shining light in that dreary world in my head. :)

    The photograph looks wonderful.

    Cheers...

  7. Arnab, I will have to get over to your blog to read your story. I do enjoy your writing.

We did get the snow--about 4 inches that clung to the trees and bushes--then yesterday and today the sun came out and it has been beautiful! I hope to post some photos tomorrow.

It seems like a fair amount of my best photos have happened by something of an accident. :)
